with one or two rows of arrow-headed dots; apex bluish;
aperture white.
Operculum as in P. ehilinoides, Eeeve.
Hab. Ceylon, in slow-running streams on the northern side oi
the mountain-zone extending into the flat country beyond
Anarajahpoora. I also obtained a few in a paddy-field iu the
south of the island, near the village of Heneratgodde.
Possibly a variety of P. ehilinoides, from which it " only differs,
in wanting the depression round the upper part of the whorls
and in the colouring." It is found iu the same localities as that
species.

Original description :—Testa lasvi, ovata, crassa, nitida, albida
aut virido-fusca; badio flammulata, spira brevi, acuminata, apice
acuta, aliquando erosa ; sutura lineari; anfractibus quinque, convexis,
ad suturam superiorem impressis, maculis flammulatis aut
sagittatis badiis; anfractu ultimo magno, buUato; basi loevi;:
apertura ovato-rotunda, superne angulata, inferne rotundata, intusalbida;
columella magna, alba, superne incrassata, inferne eurvata.

Hab. Ceylon (also reported from the Seychelles).
" The markings are very variable, being sometimes oblique,
zigzag lines, extending over the whole surface of the whorls,,
sometimes sagittate or short zigzag spots in transverse series.
Indeed, some specimens are of a uniform dark green. The last
whorl sometimes has two impressed transverse lines. The mouth
is nearly two-thirds the length of the shell."
