<strong>private</strong> <strong>use</strong>s <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>living</strong> <strong>room</strong>s are examined. In <strong>the</strong> third section, <strong>the</strong> idea <strong>of</strong> <strong>living</strong><br />
<strong>room</strong> as a reflection <strong>of</strong> identity is discussed, <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong>n <strong>the</strong> objects in <strong>the</strong> <strong>living</strong> <strong>room</strong><br />
are examined. In <strong>the</strong> last section, <strong>the</strong> factors affecting <strong>the</strong> <strong>use</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> interior<br />
design <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>living</strong> <strong>room</strong> are discussed as personal, functional <strong>and</strong> physical factors.<br />
The third chapter consists <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> field survey. In this chapter, <strong>the</strong> research<br />
objectives, questions <strong>and</strong> hypo<strong>the</strong>sis are given. Secondly, information that is related<br />
to <strong>the</strong> method <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> study is given as <strong>the</strong> sampling procedure, data collection, <strong>and</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> analysis <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> site. Lastly, <strong>the</strong> results <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> field survey are given under four<br />
headings which are <strong>the</strong> relationship between <strong>the</strong> <strong>use</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> interior design <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
<strong>living</strong> <strong>room</strong>, <strong>the</strong> effect <strong>of</strong> existence <strong>of</strong> a family <strong>room</strong> on <strong>the</strong> <strong>use</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> interior<br />
design <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>living</strong> <strong>room</strong>, group differences on <strong>the</strong> <strong>use</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> interior design <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> <strong>living</strong> <strong>room</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> sources <strong>of</strong> interior design <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>living</strong> <strong>room</strong>.<br />
The last chapter is <strong>the</strong> conclusion in which <strong>the</strong> overall results <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> study are<br />
discussed regarding <strong>the</strong> hypo<strong>the</strong>ses that are constructed. The limitations <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
study are given <strong>and</strong> suggestions for fur<strong>the</strong>r studies are proposed.<br />
