The results of the current study also revealed that respondents use their living rooms more for both public and private activities if there is no separate family ro room. Regarding these results, it can be said that the private activities that are performed in the living rooms shifts to the family rooms in the houses with family rooms. The existence and the number of public activities that are performed in the living ro rooms oms were not different for houses with and without family rooms because in each house house, guests are hosted in the living room. Independent samples es tt- tests were conducted to compare the intentions for the interior design of the living room in houses with and without family rooms. The existence of intentions related to functions of the interior r design of the living room was significantly different for houses with and without family rooms ( (t= 2.030, df= 30, two tailed p= .051). This result indicates that in the houses without family rooms intentions related to the functions of the interior design of the living room exist more than in the houses with family rooms (see Figure 3.16 .16 for the relationship between existence of family room and intentions related to functions of interior design of the living room).
