Figure 3.15. The relationship between existence <strong>of</strong> family <strong>room</strong> <strong>and</strong> frequency <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>living</strong> <strong>room</strong> <strong>use</strong><br />
Rechavi (2004) states that if <strong>the</strong>re is a separate family <strong>room</strong> <strong>the</strong> dwellers spend<br />
more time ime in <strong>the</strong>ir family <strong>room</strong> for daily activities than in <strong>the</strong>ir <strong>living</strong> <strong>room</strong> <strong>room</strong>, <strong>and</strong> <strong>use</strong>d<br />
<strong>the</strong>ir <strong>living</strong> <strong>room</strong> for hosting guests. The results <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> current study also revealed<br />
that respondents <strong>use</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir <strong>living</strong> <strong>room</strong>s more for both <strong>public</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>private</strong> activities if<br />
<strong>the</strong>re is no separate family ro <strong>room</strong>. Regarding <strong>the</strong>se results, it can be said that <strong>the</strong><br />
<strong>private</strong> activities that are performed in <strong>the</strong> <strong>living</strong> <strong>room</strong>s shifts to <strong>the</strong> family <strong>room</strong>s in<br />
<strong>the</strong> ho<strong>use</strong>s with family <strong>room</strong>s. The existence <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> number <strong>of</strong> <strong>public</strong> activities<br />
that are performed in <strong>the</strong> <strong>living</strong> ro <strong>room</strong>s oms were not different for ho<strong>use</strong>s with <strong>and</strong><br />
without family <strong>room</strong>s beca<strong>use</strong> in each ho<strong>use</strong> ho<strong>use</strong>, guests are hosted in <strong>the</strong> <strong>living</strong> <strong>room</strong>.<br />
Only in 3 ho<strong>use</strong>s, dwellers host intimate guests such as close friends or informal<br />
guests in <strong>the</strong>ir family <strong>room</strong>s.<br />
