groups. In all ho<strong>use</strong>s, both <strong>the</strong> wife <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> husb<strong>and</strong> were interviewed. They<br />

probably have similar habits as couples, <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong>y <strong>use</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir <strong>living</strong> <strong>room</strong>s in <strong>the</strong> same<br />

pattern. Ano<strong>the</strong>r reason <strong>of</strong> this result might be <strong>the</strong> social status <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> respondents.<br />

The income <strong>and</strong> education levels <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> female respondents ca<strong>use</strong> a female<br />

dominance in <strong>the</strong> ho<strong>use</strong>. Unlike traditional families, <strong>the</strong> female respondents in this<br />

study do not spend much time in <strong>the</strong> kitchen <strong>and</strong> <strong>use</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir <strong>living</strong> <strong>room</strong> equally with<br />

<strong>the</strong>ir partners. For fur<strong>the</strong>r studies, in order to examine <strong>the</strong> relationship between<br />

gender <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>use</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>living</strong> <strong>room</strong> it can be beneficial to choose male <strong>and</strong><br />

female respondents who live alone. Also, fur<strong>the</strong>r studies are needed to compare<br />

how residents <strong>living</strong> alone <strong>and</strong> families <strong>use</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir <strong>living</strong> <strong>room</strong> <strong>and</strong> to examine how<br />

<strong>the</strong> age <strong>of</strong> respondents affects <strong>the</strong> <strong>use</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> interior design <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>living</strong> <strong>room</strong>.<br />

This study foc<strong>use</strong>d on a few factors that were selected from a more complex set<br />

<strong>and</strong> might not reflect <strong>the</strong> topic in its whole complexity. Thus, future research can be<br />

designed to cover <strong>the</strong> composite effect <strong>of</strong> some <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>se factors toge<strong>the</strong>r. Pointing<br />

out <strong>the</strong> complexity <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> issue, <strong>the</strong> effect <strong>of</strong> different ho<strong>use</strong> types in relation with<br />

<strong>the</strong> social status <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> dweller, on <strong>the</strong> <strong>use</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>living</strong> <strong>room</strong> could also be<br />

examined.<br />

Qualitative analysis is helpful to cover <strong>the</strong> complexity <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> issue. Also, it helps to<br />

derive conclusions from a limited number <strong>of</strong> responses. Thus, this chapter was<br />

concluded with <strong>the</strong> qualitative analysis <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> sources <strong>of</strong> interior design <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>living</strong><br />

<strong>room</strong>. According to <strong>the</strong> results, ideas for <strong>the</strong> interior design <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>living</strong> <strong>room</strong> are<br />

mostly developed by stores or magazines. With <strong>the</strong> help <strong>of</strong> those sources,<br />
