T he rewards <strong>of</strong> being a successful pr<strong>of</strong>essional<br />

wedding photographer are great—not only financially,<br />

but also in terms <strong>of</strong> community status.<br />

<strong>The</strong> wedding photographer <strong>of</strong> the new<br />

millennium is not regarded merely as a craftsman, but as an<br />

artist and an important member <strong>of</strong> the community.<br />

DEMANDS OF WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY<br />

Working Under Pressure. To be successful, wedding<br />

photographers must master a variety <strong>of</strong> styles and perform<br />

under pressure in a very limited time frame.<br />

<strong>The</strong> wedding photographer is under a great deal <strong>of</strong><br />

stress, as the couple and their families have made months<br />

<strong>of</strong> detailed preparations, and a considerable financial investment<br />

for this (hopefully) once-in-a-lifetime event. It is<br />

the day <strong>of</strong> dreams and, as such, the expectations <strong>of</strong> clients<br />

are high.<br />

Couples don’t just want a photographic “record” <strong>of</strong><br />

the day’s events, they want inspired, imaginative images<br />

and an unforgettable presentation, and should anything<br />

go wrong photographically, the event cannot be re-shot.<br />
