Complications of Labor and/or Delivery
Complications of labor and/or delivery are recorded on the birth certificate by checking any of 15 listed complications, or
specifying “none” or “other”. More than one complication can be recorded on a birth certificate.
Among the 63,674 women who had at least one live birth in 2003, no complications of labor and/or delivery were recorded in
48,299 cases (75.9%).
