As with the overall fetal mortality rate, rates <strong>of</strong> fetal deaths by race in <strong>Louisiana</strong> have changed little over the past decade. Rates<br />
among blacks in the state have been consistently higher than those for whites from 1992 to <strong>2003</strong> but have been lower than<br />
corresponding national rates during the same period (Table 3.3 and 3.4).<br />
