Horace D. Lee, born April 25, 1877 ; mar-<br />

ried Ida May White, February 24, 1909,<br />

and they reside in Hartford ; three chil-<br />

dren, Horace, born January 3, 1910;<br />

Chester, November 2, 191 1, and Rhoda,<br />

September 24, 1916. 2. Earl, born June<br />

13, 1878, died December 4, 1878. 3.<br />

Clyde Alderman, born August 2, 1880;<br />

married Nellie Foster, <strong>of</strong> East Granby,<br />

November 18, 1903 ; they have one child,<br />

Foster Dryden Clark, born October 14,<br />

1907. Clyde A. Clark is an osteopathic<br />

doctor with <strong>of</strong>fices in Hartford. 4. John<br />

Douglass, born November 18, 1882; is<br />

a lawyer and graduate <strong>of</strong> Yale College,<br />

engaged in growing fruit in Florida ; he<br />

married, November 2, 1905, Emandel<br />

Viets, <strong>of</strong> Minneapolis ; they have two<br />

children, Charlotte Sarah Clark, born<br />

August 5, 1906, and Edna Carolyn Clark,<br />

born January 1, 1909. Mrs. Clark is a<br />

member <strong>of</strong> the Abigail Wolcott Elworth<br />

Chapter, Daughters <strong>of</strong> the American Rev-<br />

olution, and <strong>of</strong> Eureka Chapter <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Eastern Star, and takes an active part in<br />

church work, holding membership in<br />

Grace Episcopal Church <strong>of</strong> Windsor.<br />

Mrs. Edna Snow (Alderman) Clark<br />

was descended from an old Windsor fam-<br />

ily, the ancestor being William Alderman,<br />

who was in Windsor in 1672, and<br />

was a farmer in that part <strong>of</strong> Windsor,<br />

now Simsbury, where he died in 1697.<br />

He married, in 1679, Mary Case, who was<br />

born June 22, 1660, daughter <strong>of</strong> John and<br />

Sarah (Spencer) Case, the last named a<br />

daughter <strong>of</strong> William and Agnes Spencer,<br />

who came from Cambridge to Hartford<br />

in 1639. Their third son, John Alderman,<br />

married, October 28, 1719, Sarah Case,<br />

born about 1703, daughter <strong>of</strong> John and<br />

Sarah (Holcomb) Case, and they were<br />

undoubtedly the parents <strong>of</strong> Daniel Alderman,<br />

born in 1738, and died July 15,<br />

He married Thankful Griffin, born<br />

in 1737, and died December 18, 1835.<br />

Their son, Epaphras Alderman, born December<br />

14, 1760, lived in Granby, where<br />

he died July 24, 1853. He married,<br />

March 22, 1781, Chloe Hayes, born<br />

March 13, 1762, died April 5, 1834, daughter<br />

<strong>of</strong> Juda and Honora (Lampson)<br />

Hayes. Their son, Harvey Alderman,<br />

born about 1790, resided in East Granby.<br />

He married Sallie Holcomb, <strong>of</strong> that town,<br />

born April 22, 1792, died January 30,<br />

1875, daughter <strong>of</strong> Asahel and Martha<br />

Holcomb, <strong>of</strong> that town, a descendant <strong>of</strong><br />

Thomas Holcomb, who was early at Dorchester,<br />

Massachusetts, where he was<br />

admitted freeman, May 14, 1634. He<br />

sold his property there in 1635, and three<br />

years later joined others <strong>of</strong> his townsmen<br />

at Windsor, <strong>Connecticut</strong>. His<br />

descendants have long flourished in that<br />

part <strong>of</strong> Windsor, which is now Simsbury,<br />

and the latter town has been subdivided.<br />

His third son, Lieutenant Nathaniel Holcomb,<br />

born November 4, 1648, lived in<br />

what is now Simsbury, where he was a<br />

farmer and representative to the General<br />

Court six times, from 1703 to 1722, inclu-<br />

sive. He married, February 27, 1670,<br />

Mary Bliss, <strong>of</strong> Springfield, daughter <strong>of</strong><br />

Thomas Bliss, one <strong>of</strong> the original pro-<br />

prietors <strong>of</strong> Hartford. She removed after<br />

his death to Springfield. Her third son,<br />

John Holcomb, born 1680, lived in Simsbury,<br />

and married, March 9, 1706, Ann<br />

Pettibone, who was born March 11, 1679,<br />

daughter <strong>of</strong> John and Sarah (Eggleston)<br />

Pettibone, <strong>of</strong> Windsor. They were the<br />

parents <strong>of</strong> Asahel Holcomb, born in 1720,<br />

who was known as Esquire Asahel, and<br />

was long a deacon <strong>of</strong> the church at Turkey<br />

Hills, now East Granby, many years<br />

a member <strong>of</strong> its standing committee,<br />

made standing moderator, September 18,<br />

1810, and died February 21, 1817, aged<br />

ninety-six years and seven months. He
