Analysis of Major Revenue Sources
Property Tax
This revenue is derived from a tax levy on assessed real estate valuations within the corporate
limits of the Village of Huntley. Property tax revenues are received from the end of May 2008
through the end of November 2008. The McHenry County and Kane County Treasurers are
responsible for collecting and remitting the taxes to the Village throughout the year. This line
item is budgeted conservatively based on estimates received from Township Assessors as the
actual tax levy amounts are not known at time of budget approval. The 2008 EAV (equalized
assessed valuation) is currently estimated to be $923,553,340 which is an increase of
$158,291,457 from the 2007 EAV.
