the characters. and which in its wake brin~s
inevitable
death.
However. in his novels Crnjanski presents time
as a wav o~ order1n~ experience which is ~ormulated b¥
the characters themselves. and b¥ other a~encies.
These remarks on time. in Crnjanski' s novels are
made within the course o~
more extensive articles or
books not devoted to the s1n~le theme o~ time. As such.
thev are not developed. but the¥'1ndicate the ~eneral
tenor o~ opinion on the subject. This 1nvest1~ation is
