with the National Olympic Academies.
Lectures on the Session's special subject The Olympic Movement, the Olympic
Games and the Role of the International Olympic Academy and the National
Olympic Academies gave the following outstanding lecturers: Dr Konstantinos
KARTALIS (GRE), Mr Richard W. PALMER (SUI), Mrs Susan CRAWFORD (AUS),
Dr Kostas GEORGIADIS (GRE), Mr Conrado DURANTEZ (ESP), Mr Ian CULPAN
(NZL), Dr Neise ABREU (BRA), Dr Daniel de la CUEVA (ARG), Mrs Angie
RIZAKOS (GRE).
The aim of all IOA Sessions is to enrich Participants' knowledge, to provide
them with new ideas and experiences on Olympic Education and help them make
right whatever wrong views they may hold on the Olympic Movement. IOA
Sessions also encourage Participants to continue with their career, to make use of
the knowledge they acquired as educators and to share their experiences and their
knowledge with the others through lectures, expositions, held in National Olympic
Committees, and articles in newspapers, on the Internet or in TV programmes.
It is worth mentioning that all Participants in the Sessions of the IOA leave
the Academy premises fascinated and convinced that the objectives of their
participation in the Sessions have been attained.
To conclude, I would like to express, once again, our warmest thanks to the
Hellenic Olympic Committee and its President Mr Lambis NIKOLAOU, as well as
to the IOC and its President for the past 21 years Mr Juan Antonio SAMARANCH,
for their continuous support to the efforts of the IOA.
