• Acquire the support and partnership from the country in which the strategies and plans are to be implemented. • Organise attractive, enjoyable activities for youngsters and emphasize the active involvement of their parents. • Consider the cultural aspects of different countries when planning the various activities. • Create or enhance activities conducted by the National Olympic Academy. • Ensure that the Olympic Ideals are integrated into physical education programs. • Instigate Olympic Run Day Runs to be held in all educational institutions. • Cooperate with the NOC via the NOA to organise sports forums and workshops and to disseminate information on Olympic Education via newspapers, magazines, newsletters, posters and informational boards. • Create local Olympic Education resources. • Disseminate Olympism in the local sports events. • Conduct lectures on the past, present and future of the Olympic Games. • Cooperate with the NOC to promote the volunteer movement. • Initiate or increase the interaction with the Sports Ministry. • Introduce athletes as Olympic ambassadors to schools. • Create educational packages for schools with the assistance of educators. • Initiate efforts to establish NOAs. Question 19: What can you do to promote the Olympic ideals within different institutions (clubs, universities, NOCs, etc.), in your research and in your publications? Activities carried out by former <strong>IOA</strong> participants to promote the Olympic ideals must be gradual. They comprise: 1. Activities at local level, such as: • Personal research in line with ethical and moral behaviour corresponding to the Olympic ideals. 2. Activities at national level, including making the following aware: • Directors of National Federations and Clubs. • Media (written press, radio, television and Internet). • Different levels of the education system (primary, secondary and university). 3. Limited extra activities like organising: • "Mini-Olympiads". • Olympic Days. • Events with athletes who have participated in the Olympic Games. 245
