to Mr George MOISSIDIS (GRE)

He showed an early interest in sport, especially in athletics, towing, winter
sports and climbing.
Higher Official of the National Climbing and Skiing Federation from 1943 to
1985: Assistant Secretary (1964-1974), Secretary General (1974-1982) President of
the National Skiing Federation, after its establishment, from 1987 to 1988 and from
1992 to 1998. In 1985, he was named Honorary Member of the International Union
of Climbing Associations (UIAA).
Since 1968, Member of the Commission for the Olympic Flame of the Hellenic
Olympic Committee, Member of the Eligibility Committee (1974-1977), Member of
the Ephoria of the International Olympic Academy (1974-1977), Vice-Président of
the International Olympic Academy (1977-2000) Chief of Mission for the Nagano
Winter Olympic Games (1998) and, at present, Member of the Ephoria of the
International Olympic Academy.
Member of the IOC Commission for the International Olympic Academy and
for Olympic Education (1999), Member of the IOC Commission for Culture and
Olympic Education (2000).
