A P P E N D I X A Command Reference clear Command clear option See also show fdb, show counters Description A privileged utility that allows the counters and forwarding database to be emptied. The following are the clear options: clear help displays help for the command. Example 6000 Switch>#>clear help Usage: clear counters clear fdb clear fdb clear fdb IP clear sysfails clear counters sets to zeros all the counters in the system. Example 6000 Switch>clear counters (NO MESSAGE) clear fdb removes all entries from the forwarding database. Example 6000 Switch>clear fdb (NO MESSAGE) clear fdb IP removes all IP switching entries from the forwarding database and lookup engine. Example 6000 Switch>clear fdb IP (NO MESSAGE) clear fdb VID clears the forwarding database for a VLAN. Independent VLAN learning mode (IVL) must be set with the fdb mode ivl command.
