We also talk about the importance of contacting the EEO Department within 24 hours of any concerns regarding the key words harassment or discrimination. Due to liability issues, EEO presents a brief overview during this session covering the importance of reporting any EEO issues within 24 hours. • When hiring new employees or promoting current BWC employees, the following guidelines should be addressed: Comply with all laws related to equal opportunity that affect applicants seeking employment. Treat all applicants equitably in regards to recruitment and hiring. Questions should be directed to the EEO Department. When staffing a position conduct timely interviews and submit prompt recommendations for hire. • Provide each employee with an environment free from discrimination or harassment using the following guidelines: Comply with all laws related to equal opportunity that affect employees including working conditions, benefits, training, educational assistance and discipline. Bring violations of the BWC non-discrimination policies to the attention of the EEO department for investigation. Cooperate and provide assistance, if requested, during an EEO investigation. Do not retaliate against any employee who has made a complaint or participated in an EEO investigation. 46 | Page
