BRAKING REQUIREMENTS
1. The braking requirements referred to in regulation 16(4) are set out inthe Table and are to be
interpreted in accordance with paragraphs 2 to 5 of this Schedule.

1 The vehicle shall be equippedwith—
(a) oneefficient braking system having two means of operation;
(b) one efficient split braking system having onemeans of operation; or
(c)two efficient braking systems each having a separate means of operation.
and in the case of a vehicle first used on or after 1st January1968, no account
shall be taken of a multi-pull means of operation unless,at first application,
it operates a hydraulic, electric or pneumatic devicewhich causes the
application of brakes with total braking efficiency not lessthan 25%.
2 The vehicle shall be equipped with—
(a) one efficient braking system having two meansof operation; or
