regulation 26.<br />

4 4 4 Application <strong>and</strong> Exemptions<br />

Previous regulations 3(10) <strong>and</strong> (11)are no longer required<br />

as their effect is secured is secured by the provisionsof<br />

the Interpretation Act.<br />

Paragraph (1) embraces the scopeof the previous<br />

<strong>Construction</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Use</strong> <strong>Regulations</strong> <strong>and</strong> Track Laying<br />

<strong>Vehicles</strong><strong>Regulations</strong>.<br />

Paragraphs 2 <strong>and</strong> 3introduce new provisions making<br />

it unnecessary to define classes of motorvehicles by<br />

date of manufacture as well as by date of first use. Such<br />

definitionsin the revoked <strong>Regulations</strong> appear in these<br />

<strong>Regulations</strong> as definitions referringsolely to date of<br />

first use, the effect of the revoked references to dateof<br />

manufacture being preserved by the new provisions.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Table reproduces the effect of previous<br />

regulations 4(2) to (13) exceptas follows—<br />
