This weight as respects each axle isthe sum of the weights to be transmitted to the road<br />

surface by all the wheelsof that axle.<br />

Only for trailers forming part of articulatedvehicles or where some of the weight of the<br />

trailer or its load is to be imposedon the drawing vehicle. This item need not be completed<br />

in the case of a converterdolly.<br />

This weight is the sum of the weightsto be transmitted to the road surface by all the wheels<br />

of the trailer, includingany weight of the trailer to be imposed on the drawing vehicle.<br />

References to the weights tobe transmitted to the road surface by all or any of the wheels<br />

of the trailerare references to the weight so to be transmitted both of the trailer <strong>and</strong>of any<br />

load or persons carried by it <strong>and</strong> references to the weights to be imposedon the drawing<br />

vehicle are references to the weights so to be imposed bothof the trailer <strong>and</strong> of any load<br />

or persons carried by it except where onlythe load of the trailer is imposed on the drawing<br />

vehicle.<br />

This item need not be completed in thecase of a trailer manufactured before 1st April<br />

1970.<br />

1972.<br />

This item need not be completed in thecase of a trailer manufactured before 1st October<br />

1972 or which forms partof an articulated vehicle.<br />

PART III<br />

1. <strong>The</strong> power of an engine, which is to be shownonly in the case of a compression ignition engine<br />

on the plate in respectof item 3 in Part Iof this Schedule, shall be the amount in kilowatts equivalent<br />

to the installedpower output shown in a type test certificate issued—<br />

(a) by a personauthorised by the Secretary of State for the type of engine to which the<br />

engineconforms; <strong>and</strong><br />

(b) in accordancewith either—<br />

(i) theprovisions relating to the installed brake power output specified in the<br />

BritishSt<strong>and</strong>ard Specification for the Performance of Diesel Engines for <strong>Road</strong><br />

<strong>Vehicles</strong>published on 19th May 1971 under the number BS AU 141a: 1971;<br />

(ii) the provisions relating to the net power specified in Community Directive 80/1269<br />

butafter allowance has been made for the power absorbed by such equipment, atits<br />

minimum power setting, driven by the engine of the vehicle as is fittedfor the<br />

operation of the vehicle (other than its propulsion) such power beingmeasured at<br />

the speed corresponding to the engine speed at which maximum enginepower is<br />

developed; or<br />

(iii) the provisions of Annex 10 of ECE Regulation 24.02as further amended with effect<br />

from 15th February 1984 relating to the methodof measuring internal combustion<br />

engine net power, but after allowance hasbeen made for the power absorbed by any<br />

disconnectable or progressive coolingfan, at its maximum setting, <strong>and</strong> by any other<br />

such equipment, at its minimumpower setting, driven by the engine of the vehicle<br />

as is fitted for the operationof the vehicle (other than its propulsion), such power<br />
