4. Chassis or serial number.<br />

5. Number of axles.<br />

6. Maximum axle weight for each axle (b).<br />

7. Maximum gross weight (c).<br />

8. Maximum train weight (d).<br />

9. Maximum weight in Great Britain for eachaxle (b) (e).<br />

10. Maximum gross weight in Great Britain (c) (e).<br />

<strong>The</strong> power need notbe shown in the case of a motor vehicle manufactured before 1st<br />

October 1972(hereinafter in this Schedule referred to as “an excepted vehicle”)<strong>and</strong> shall<br />

not be shown in the case of any motor vehicle which is propelledotherwise than by a<br />

compression ignition engine.<br />

This weight as respects each axle isthe sum of the weights to be transmitted to the road<br />

surface by all the wheelsof that axle.<br />

This weight is the sum of the weightsto be transmitted to the road surface by all the<br />

wheels of the motor vehicle(including any load imposed by a trailer, whether forming<br />

part of an articulatedvehicle or not, on the motor vehicle).<br />

This weight is the sum of the weightsto be transmitted to the road surface by all the<br />

wheels of the motor vehicle<strong>and</strong> of any trailer drawn, but this item need not be completed<br />

where the motorvehicle is not constructed to draw a trailer.<br />

References to the weights tobe transmitted to the road surface by all or any of the wheels<br />

of the vehicleor of any trailer drawn are references to the weights so to be transmittedboth<br />

of the vehicle or trailer <strong>and</strong> of any load or persons carried by it.<br />

This item need not be completed in thecase of an excepted vehicle or in the case of a<br />

vehicle which is a locomotiveor motor tractor.<br />

PART II<br />

Particulars to be shownon plate for trailers (including trailers forming part of articulated vehicles)<br />

1. Manufacturer's name.<br />

2. Chassis or serial number.<br />

3. Number of axles.<br />

4. Maximum weight for each axle (a).<br />
