9. Prevention of Terrorism Bill—A bill to provide for the making against individuals involved in<br />

terrorism-related activity of orders imposing obligations on them for purposes connected with<br />

preventing or restricting their further involvement in such activity; to make provision about<br />

appeals and other proceedings relating to such orders; and for connected purposes, having<br />

been brought from the Commons on Monday 28th February and printed pursuant to<br />

Standing Order 51, was read a first time. (HL Bill 34)<br />

10. Prevention of Terrorism Bill—The Explanatory Notes relating to the bill were printed pursuant to<br />

Standing Order 51. (HL Bill 34-EN)<br />

11. Business of the House—It was moved by the Lord President (Baroness Amos) that Standing Order<br />

47 (No two stages of a Bill to be taken on one day) be dispensed with today to allow the<br />

Prevention of Terrorism Bill to be read a second time; the motion was agreed to.<br />

12. Gambling Bill—It was moved by the Lord McIntosh of Haringey that it be an instruction to the<br />

Committee of the Whole House to which the Gambling Bill has been committed that they<br />

13. Prevention of Terrorism Bill—It was moved by the Lord Falconer of Thoroton, on behalf of the<br />

Baroness Scotland of Asthal, that the bill be now read a second time; after debate, the motion<br />

was agreed to and the bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole House.<br />

14. Industrial Training Levy (Construction Board) Order 2005—The Grand Committee reported that<br />

it had considered the draft Order.<br />

15. Pension Protection Fund (PPF Ombudsman) Order 2005—The Grand Committee reported that<br />

it had considered the draft Order.<br />

16. Pension Protection Fund (Pension Compensation Cap) Order 2005—The Grand Committee<br />

reported that it had considered the draft Order.<br />

17. Occupational Pension Schemes (Modification of Pension Protection Provisions) Regulations<br />

2005—The Grand Committee reported that it had considered the draft Regulations.<br />

18. Occupational Pension Schemes (Levies) Regulations 2005—The Grand Committee reported that<br />

it had considered the draft Regulations.<br />

19. Regulatory Reform (Prison OYcers) (Industrial Action) Order 2005—It was moved by the Lord<br />

Bassam of Brighton, on behalf of the Baroness Scotland of Asthal, that the draft Regulatory<br />

Reform Order laid before the House on 17th January be approved; the motion was agreed to.<br />

The House was adjourned at twenty-six minutes past ten o’clock<br />

till tomorrow, half-past two o’clock.<br />
