1. Lord Sheppard of Liverpool—The Lord Chancellor acquainted the House that Lord Sheppard of
Liverpool, a member of the House, had died on 5th March 2005.
2. Leave of Absence—It was ordered that leave of absence be granted to the Baroness Jeger for the
remainder of this Parliament.

Department of Health (Appellant) and others (England)— The appeal of the Secretary of
State for the Department of Health was presented and it was ordered that in accordance with
Standing Order VI the statement and appendix thereto be lodged on or before 18th April.
