1. Oath—Rupert Charles Lord De Mauley, having received a Writ of Summons in accordance with<br />

Standing Order 10 (Hereditary peers: by-elections) following the death of Lord Burnham, sat<br />

first in <strong>Parliament</strong>, having first taken and subscribed the oath pursuant to statute.<br />

2. Baroness Strange—The Lord Chancellor acquainted the House that Baroness Strange, a member<br />

of the House, had died on 11th March 2005.<br />

3. R (on the application of Nunn) (Petitioner) v. First Secretary of State (Respondent)—The petition<br />

of Christine Nunn praying for leave to appeal was presented and referred to an Appeal<br />

Committee (lodged 8th March).<br />

4. In re Faraj (FC) (Petitioner) (application for a writ of Habeas Corpus)—The petition of Faraj<br />

Hassan Faraj praying for an extension of time within which the petition may be lodged and<br />

for leave to appeal in accordance with the Administration of Justice Act 1960, was presented<br />

and referred to an Appeal Committee. The petitioner’s certificate of public funding was<br />

lodged.<br />

5. A and others (Appellants) v. Secretary of State for the Home Department (Respondent) (2004)—<br />

The petition of the AIRE Centre, Amnesty International Limited, the Association for the<br />

Prevention of Torture, British Irish Rights Watch, the Committee on the Administration of<br />

Justice, Doctors for Human Rights, Human Rights Watch, the International Federation of<br />

Human Rights, INTERIGHTS, the Law Society of England and Wales, Liberty, the Medical<br />

Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture, REDRESS and the World Organisation<br />

Against Torture praying for leave to intervene in the said appeal was presented and referred<br />

to an Appeal Committee.<br />

(Respondents)—The appeal was set down for hearing and referred to an Appellate<br />

Committee.<br />
