Use of Adequate Water Treatment Methods
Use of in-house water treatment is presented in Table 7.2. Households were asked of ways
they may be treating water at home to make it safer to drink. Boiling, adding bleach or
chlorine, using a water filter, and/or using solar disinfection were considered appropriate
means for the proper treatment of drinking water. 15 The table shows water treatment by all
households and the percentage of those living in households using unimproved water
sources but using appropriate water treatment methods.
