Standing believes that many of the current development methodologies are
inadequate for building Web-based applications. This paper examines a number
of e-commerce application development approaches and proposes a methodology
which attempts to address a number of issues he identified. Standing proposes the
use of the Internet commerce development methodology (ICDM) because it
provides a business and strategic focus as well as includes a management
structure in addition to covering development aspects.
