NOTES TO AND FORMING PART OF THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2007 NOTE 44: SUBSEQUENT EVENTS Subsequent to balance date, there has been a downturn in global equity markets which has resulted in a reduction to the investment values shown in Note 23. Based on information available at 29 February 2008, the decline in the investment portfolio amounted to $110.4 million, largely comprising Australian Equities $48.2 million and International Equities $43.3 million. Unless otherwise disclosed, there are no other matters or circumstances that have arisen since the end of the financial year that have affected or may subsequently affect the financial position of the University or its subsidiaries.
