Not withst<strong>and</strong>ing the pavement design produced, the minimum st<strong>and</strong>ard pavement pr<strong>of</strong>ile shall be:<br />

• Sub grade compacted to 95% MMDD to a minimum depth <strong>of</strong> 150mm below the sub grade<br />

surface.<br />

• Sub base <strong>of</strong> a minimum 200mm layer <strong>of</strong> local crusher dust compacted to 95% MMDD with a<br />

minimum 400mm in Gilgai soil.<br />

• Base course <strong>of</strong> 200mm <strong>of</strong> proprietary crushed rock base compacted to 98% MMDD.<br />

• Surface course <strong>of</strong> 7mm bitumen emulsion or cut back bitumen primer seal <strong>and</strong> 25mm dense<br />

graded asphalt (urban <strong>and</strong> industrial areas) or 14mm hot bitumen seal (rural areas).<br />

Clause 4.3.3.1 Drainage Systems<br />

Add further paragraph:<br />

The <strong>road</strong> network shall be depressed below the adjacent l<strong>and</strong> to provide the primary <strong>drainage</strong><br />

conveyance system.<br />

The use <strong>of</strong> small diameter piped collection <strong>and</strong> disposal systems are to be avoided.<br />

Stormwater shall be conveyed via the <strong>road</strong> kerb <strong>and</strong> gutter to multiple side entry pits or <strong>for</strong>med<br />

concrete spillways to the open channel main drains.<br />

It is acceptable <strong>for</strong> the full <strong>road</strong> pavement width to act as the <strong>drainage</strong> channel.<br />

Outlets shall be placed at sufficient intervals to contain the minor storm within the <strong>road</strong> pavement <strong>and</strong><br />

the major storm within the <strong>road</strong> reserve.<br />

All stormwater <strong>drainage</strong> components shall be rein<strong>for</strong>ced concrete designed in accordance with the<br />

relevant Australian st<strong>and</strong>ard unless otherwise approved by the Engineer.<br />

This Clause is deleted <strong>and</strong> replaced by this Specification.<br />

CONDUCT OF THE WORKS<br />

In the <strong>construction</strong> <strong>of</strong> the <strong>works</strong> the parties shall act in a spirit <strong>of</strong> mutual trust <strong>and</strong> co-operation.<br />

Any party shall promptly notify the others as soon as it becomes aware <strong>of</strong> any matter which could<br />

increase the total price, delay completion or impair the per<strong>for</strong>mance <strong>of</strong> the <strong>works</strong> in use.<br />

Any party may call a joint meeting <strong>of</strong> parties to determine action as to how to manage the effect <strong>of</strong> the<br />

notified matter.<br />

“Contractor”<br />

“Engineer”<br />

shall mean the party constructing the <strong>works</strong>.<br />

shall mean the Engineer <strong>of</strong> the Shire <strong>of</strong> Roebourne or nominated<br />

representative.<br />

“Shire or Local Authority”<br />

shall mean the Shire <strong>of</strong> Roebourne.<br />
