language. Emphasis is placed on dynamic application of the language<br />

Everyday German 1<br />

with German-speaking individuals during simple and routine<br />
tasks. Pre-requisite: Everyday German 1<br />

Everyday German 3<br />
At this level you will explore topics like work, school, leisure etc. in a<br />
fully interactive and engaging online language learning environment that<br />
continues to enhance speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.<br />
You will be able to deal with most situations when travelling in an area<br />
where German is spoken, and will be able to produce connected text on<br />
the specified topics. Additional levels of this program will be available in<br />
upcoming semesters. Pre-requisite: Everyday German 2<br />

American Sign Language (ASL)<br />
Certificate – IN-CLASS<br />
Is This for You? Professionals and families in contact with signing deaf<br />
people, or any individual interested in learning a new language will<br />
benefit from classes taught by culturally deaf instructors.<br />
Certificate Highlights: These popular courses are offered in partnership<br />
with The Canadian Hearing Society and are highly endorsed by the deaf<br />
community. All courses are based on the Signing Naturally Curriculum,<br />
which teaches the linguistic principles of ASL, and touch on the culture<br />
of the deaf community. A certificate will be granted upon completion of<br />
all Level 1 and Level 2 ASL courses.<br />
Course fee does not include books and tapes required for this course.<br />
One set of DVDs are used for each course.<br />

This introductory course for those with no previous knowledge of ASL<br />
introduces grammatical structures and facial expressions according to<br />
their functions, which are then used in situations connected to everyday<br />
activities in the deaf community. You learn how to relate to each other<br />
and build up your cross-cultural awareness and understanding in a<br />
classroom with no spoken conversation.<br />

Signing Naturally 201<br />
While level one introduced language concepts related to people, places<br />
and things within the immediate environment, level two encourages you<br />
to talk about people in a more abstract way and about the environment<br />
outside the classroom. You will also learn to narrate events that occurred<br />

Learn to narrate events that occurred in the past, as opposed to telling<br />
