APPRENTICESHIP EXEMPTION TESTING<br />

<strong>Fleming</strong> <strong>College</strong> is pleased to offer Apprenticeship Exemption Testing<br />

in most trades. A successful exemption test will allow you to be exempt<br />

from the classroom portion of apprenticeship in your trade however<br />

will not exempt you from the required working hours for your trade.<br />

Tests are available to registered apprentices and those who, while not<br />

registered, have trade experience. Successful tests are valid for two<br />

years from the date of the test for nonapprentices.<br />

Tests must be successfully completed in order (e.g. Level 1 (Basic),<br />

Level 2 (Intermediate), Level 3 (Advanced)). To ensure your eligibility<br />

and the availability of the correct test,you must contact us at least 1<br />

week prior to the date you wish to write.<br />

Testing sessions will be held at the Learning Support Services,<br />

Sutherland Campus (Brealey), Peterborough on the following dates from<br />

6:00pm – 9:00pm:<br />

TRADES PRE-EXAMINATION PREP COURSES<br />

Preparing to write your examination for their Certificate of Qualification<br />

(CofQ). Students who have taken these courses in the past have been<br />

very successful when writing the CofQ.<br />

We offer pre-examination courses for the following trades:<br />

CNST 35 Construction & Maintenance Electrician (electrical) (60 hrs)<br />

CNST 34 General Carpentry (60 hrs)<br />

Sutherland Campus, Peterborough<br />

$396.00 per course (does not include text)<br />

Courses are scheduled to meet demand. Please call 705-749-5502 to<br />

MOTORCYCLE TRAINING<br />

Motorcycle M2 Exit Course<br />

For the experienced street rider who wants to make the most of their<br />

riding skills, gain a permanent licence, and learn safety management<br />

techniques. Come with your motorcycle and be ready to ride. There<br />

will be a practical skills evaluation period included in the first class. A<br />

permanent “M” license will be issued once you pass this course, as per<br />

recognition of this course as by the Ministry of Transportation in Ontario.<br />

Prerequisite: Possession of an “M2” graduated license for a minimum<br />

of 18 months.<br />

Motorcycle Training<br />

For new riders or those who want to develop their skills. Learn the<br />

basics of motorcycle riding, manoeuvring, collision avoidance skills, and<br />

defensive driving techniques. At the end of the course you are tested<br />

for your “M2” class licence on the bike you have learned on (valid “M1”<br />

permit required prior to taking the course). A helmet, heavy jacket,<br />

gloves, slacks and leather footwear are necessary. Graduates may<br />

qualify for insurance premium discounts and shorten the time required<br />

before you can test for the “M” exit test. Prerequisite: M1 permit; 16<br />

years of age or older. (Riders under 18 must have a completed parental<br />

consent form before the start of class or your parent must be at the<br />

class to sign the form.)<br />
