TC-2.4: Revise the zoning bylaw to allow a parking reduction in the CBD based<br />

upon the parking study conducted in Goal T-2.1.<br />

TC-2.5: Revise Section XI-D, Special Permits, to increase the maximum density in<br />

the CBD to 15 to 20 units per acre, as consistent with smart growth guidelines.<br />

TC-2.6: Upgrade signage in the downtown and villages to improve wayfinding by<br />

motorists and cyclists and pedestrians.<br />

TC-2.7: Work with Merrimack Valley <strong>Plan</strong>ning Commission and the Merrimack<br />

Valley TMA to identify and map potential streets for bike routes, bike lanes and<br />

sidewalks.<br />

TC-2.8: Work with developers to build sidewalks and improve connectivity<br />

TC-3.1: Continue participating in the New Hampshire I-93 Transit Study to<br />

maximize long-term transit benefits for <strong>Methuen</strong> from the I-93 widening project.<br />

The Mayor and Community Development staff have been coordinating efforts with<br />

NY consulting team.<br />

TC-3.2: Work with businesses, MVRTA, the Merrimack Valley TMA, and the state<br />

to establish convenient and effective connections between <strong>Methuen</strong> neighborhoods<br />

and MBTA commuter rail stops in Lawrence and Haverhill.<br />

TC-3.3: Work with MVRTA to investigate restoring service to West <strong>Methuen</strong> and<br />

improving service throughout the <strong>City</strong>. Investigate options for rail or bus shuttle<br />

service to Lawrence commuter rail station from downtown area.<br />

TC-3.4: Work with MVRTA to post signs at all bus stops in <strong>Methuen</strong> with<br />

information on the destination and frequency <strong>of</strong> the bus.<br />
