4.5 Entrance step<br />
Before commencing the journey and after short interruptions of the<br />
<br />
journey, ensure that the entrance step is completely retracted.<br />
Do not stand in the direct range of the entrance step while it is being<br />
<br />
retracted or extended.<br />
Do not step on the entrance step until it has extended completely. There<br />
<br />
is a risk of injury.<br />
Do not under any circumstances raise or lower persons or loads with the<br />
<br />
entrance step.<br />
Take note of the different step heights and make certain that the ground is<br />
<br />
firm and even when exiting.<br />
Do not grease or lubricate the pivot bearing and joints of the entrance step<br />
<br />
(see chapter 12).<br />
The switch to operate the entrance step is located on the inside of the<br />
<br />
vehicle in the area of the conversion door.<br />
If the entrance step has not been properly retracted and locked into place,<br />
<br />
a warning tone is heard when the ignition is switched on.<br />
Follow the warning notice on the entrance step.<br />

Before stepping on the entrance step, fully extend it (Fig. 1).<br />
Extending:<br />
Retracting:<br />
Press the rocker switch (Fig. 2,1) down until the entrance step has<br />
<br />
extended completely.<br />
Press the rocker switch (Fig. 2,1) up until the entrance step has retracted<br />
<br />
completely.<br />
The entrance step can also be retracted and extended with the remote control.<br />
