10.2 Alde hot-water heater<br />
Never let gas escape unburned due to danger of explosion.<br />
<br />
When filling the fuel tank, on ferries or in the garage, never run the<br />
<br />
heater in gas operation. Danger of explosion!<br />
Never run hot-water heater without heating fluid. Observe notes in<br />
<br />
chapter 13.<br />
Never drill holes in the floor. This might damage the hot-water pipes.<br />
<br />
Do not use the space above and behind the heater as a storage compart-<br />
<br />
ment.<br />
<strong>Dethleffs</strong> recommends to bleed the heating system after the initial heater<br />
<br />
operation and to check the glycol content. Observe notes in chapter 13.<br />
For further information, see the separate instruction manual "Alde Compact"<br />
and observe the maintenance instructions found in chapter 13.<br />

For further information about the use of the boiler see section "Boiler".<br />

Initial start-up<br />
When lighting the heater for the first time a small amount of smoke and odour<br />
will occur. Immediately set the operating switch of the heater to its highest<br />
position. Open doors and windows and ventilate well. Smoke and odour will<br />
disappear by themselves after a while.<br />
The hot-water heater has been fitted below in the wardrobe.<br />

Selecting operating mode:<br />
The hot-water heater has three operating modes:<br />
Hot water (Fig. 59,7)<br />
<br />
Heater and hot water (Fig. 59,5)<br />
<br />
Heater (Fig. 59,4)<br />
<br />
Use the sliding switch (Fig. 59,6) to set the operating mode.<br />
The hot-water heater can be operated with the following energy sources:<br />
