15.1.6 Hair and Jewellery<br />
15.1.6.1 Hair longer than shoulder length must be<br />
confined in the helmet or jacket.<br />
15.1.6.2 Body jewellery is to be removed or securely<br />
covered with tape prior to competition.<br />
15.1.7 General footwear<br />
15.1.7.1 No person may wear open footwear in<br />
the pit area<br />
15.2 Frames and parts - ROAD RACING<br />
15.2.1 Streamlining<br />
15.2.1.1 Streamlining must leave the front wheel<br />
and mudguard exposed.<br />
15.2.2 Brakes<br />
15.2.2.1 At least 2 efficient brakes must operate<br />
independently <strong>of</strong> each other on the front<br />
and rear wheels.<br />
15.2.2.2 Front brake caliper bolts to be<br />
lockwired in the tightened position<br />
15.2.3 General<br />
15.2.3.1 Radiator protection guards may be fitted<br />
providing there is no modification to the<br />
radiators or bodywork.<br />
15.2.3.2 Frame protection devices may be added<br />
providing they do not protrude more than<br />
80mm from the bodywork and are no<br />
more than 80mm in diameter.<br />
15.2.3.3 A chain guard made <strong>of</strong> a suitable material<br />
must be fitted in such a way to prevent<br />
trapping between the lower drive chain<br />
run and the final drive sprocket at the rear<br />
wheel.<br />
15.2.3.4 Engine end case protectors mounted<br />
using at least 2 <strong>of</strong> the original bolt<br />
locations, and to protrude no more<br />
than 20mm. This will relate to all 4<br />
stroke machines<br />
15.2.4 Production<br />
15.2.4.1 Subject to the required and permitted<br />
alterations set out below, solo Production<br />
machines must:<br />
a) Be fitted with ADR compliance plates<br />
for the particular machine,<br />
b) Be eligible for registration in all States<br />
and Territories in which they compete,<br />
c) Be <strong>of</strong> a make and model lawfully<br />
sold in <strong>Australia</strong>,<br />
d) Be as constructed by, or<br />
modified with the approval <strong>of</strong>, the<br />
108 enjoy the ride<br />
manufacturer so as to conform with<br />
<strong>Australia</strong>n Design Rules for normal<br />
road use.<br />
15.2.4.2 Tyres must:<br />
a) Be commercially available in<br />
<strong>Australia</strong>,<br />
b) Be manufactured for road use in all<br />
weather conditions,<br />
c) Be not less than the machine<br />
manufacturer’s recommended speed<br />
and load rating,<br />
d) Be worn no more than to the<br />
minimum tread depth indicators,<br />
e) Not be manufactured for only<br />
competition use,<br />
f) Not have an augmented or modified<br />
tread pattern,<br />
g) Comply with the service description<br />
(load and speed rating) permanently<br />
moulded on the OEM tyre side wall,<br />
h) Comply with the relevant<br />
requirements <strong>of</strong> the nominated<br />
standard. e.g. ETRTO, JATMA & TRA<br />
15.2.4.3 The following must be removed:<br />
a) Headlamp,<br />
b) Tail lamp,<br />
c) Reflectors,<br />
d) Horn,<br />
e) Traffic indicators,<br />
f) Mirrors,<br />
g) Centre and side stands,<br />
h) Registration plate / bracket and label<br />
holder.<br />
15.2.4.4 Any sharp edges left by the removal <strong>of</strong> the<br />
above components must be protected by<br />
a rolled edge or beading <strong>of</strong> minimum 3mm<br />
diameter.<br />
15.2.4.5 The following may be replaced or<br />
modified:<br />
a) Fairing,<br />
b) Screen,<br />
c) Rear bodywork,<br />
d) Seat,<br />
e) Mudguards,<br />
f) Tank covers and<br />
g) Side covers,<br />
but replacements must be the same in<br />
shape and appearance as, and no lighter<br />
in weight than, the original.<br />
h) Mounting bracket(s) for fairing,<br />
