17.13.1.3 There will be a minimum <strong>of</strong> 5 legs per<br />
class.<br />
17.13.1.4 If heats and finals are required:<br />
a) Heats will be 3 legs per class, with<br />
heats to be mixed, and<br />
b) Finals will be 3 legs per class.<br />
17.13.2 Allocation <strong>of</strong> Numbers<br />
17.13.2.1 A competitor’s racing number will be<br />
determined as follows:<br />
a) The first digit will be the first digit <strong>of</strong><br />
the postcode for the competitor’s<br />
state <strong>of</strong> residency, except the<br />
Northern Territory, which will be 1,<br />
b) The remainder <strong>of</strong> the number will be<br />
at the discretion <strong>of</strong> the RCB.<br />
17.13.3 Venues<br />
17.13.3.1 Venues used for <strong>Australia</strong>n Junior<br />
Motocross Championships will be closed<br />
to competitors for a minimum <strong>of</strong> 21 days<br />
prior to the event.<br />
17.14 AUSTRALIAN SUPERCROSS<br />

17.14.1 Championship Classes<br />

17.14.2 Format<br />
17.14.2.1 The format for both classes <strong>of</strong> the<br />
championships will be as determined<br />
by the Motocross and Supercross<br />
Commission and published in SR.<br />
17.14.3 Allocation <strong>of</strong> Numbers<br />
17.14.3.1 The No 1 numberplate in each class will<br />
be allocated to the winner <strong>of</strong> the previous<br />
year’s championship.<br />
17.14.3.2 Numberplates 2 to 20 in each class will be<br />
determined by competitors’ overall position<br />
in both the previous year’s Motocross<br />
and Supercross Championships which is<br />
determined by:<br />
a) Aggregating championship points<br />
awarded in both competitions, and<br />
b) Aggregating them as a percentage<br />
as calculated by the Motocross<br />
Commission.<br />
17.14.3.3 If 2 or more competitors aggregate the<br />
same number <strong>of</strong> points, preference will be<br />
given to:<br />
a) Competitors who competed in the<br />
most championship events, then<br />
b) The competitor who achieved the<br />
highest number <strong>of</strong> points at the<br />
last championship round they both<br />
competed in.<br />
17.14.3.4 Competitors entitled to a top 20 number<br />
can either contest the next season with<br />
that number, or apply for a different<br />
number outside the top 20 numbers.<br />
17.14.4 Qualifying<br />
17.14.4.1 Conditions <strong>of</strong> qualifying must be stipulated<br />
in the SR.<br />
17.14.4.2 For the First Round <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Championships:<br />
a) The top 10 competitors in the<br />
previous year’s championship will<br />
automatically qualify, and<br />
b) The remaining 10 competitors will be<br />
determined by qualifying races.<br />
17.14.4.3 For remaining rounds, the 10 competitors<br />
leading the championship will qualify.<br />
17.14.5 Grid Positions<br />
17.14.5.1 Grid positions for the first Final <strong>of</strong> the first<br />
Round will be determined by:<br />
a) The placings <strong>of</strong> the top 10<br />
competitors in the previous year’s<br />
championships, and<br />
b) The placings <strong>of</strong> the top 10<br />
competitors in the Qualifying Final.<br />
17.14.5.2 Grid positions for first Final 1 <strong>of</strong> subsequent<br />
rounds will be determined by:<br />
a) The 10 competitors leading the<br />
Championship at that time, and<br />
b) The placings <strong>of</strong> competitors in the<br />
Qualifying Final.<br />
17.14.5.3 Grid positions for 2 nd and 3 rd Finals <strong>of</strong><br />
each round will be determined by placings<br />
in the previous Final.<br />
17.14.6 Practice<br />
17.14.6.1 Practice for championship events must<br />
be:<br />
a) Outdoor events - minimum 8 minutes<br />
for first session and minimum 10<br />
minutes for second session,<br />
b) Indoor events - minimum 5 minutes<br />
first session and minimum 8 minutes<br />
for second session.<br />
17.14.6.2 If the track is altered during the course <strong>of</strong><br />
the meeting, at least 1 inspection lap must<br />
