10.0.5 PARENTS’ INCONVENIENCE ALLOWANCE<br />

25 Parents’ Inconvenience Allowance – per day $50<br />

Up to a maximum <strong>of</strong> $1,500<br />

10.3.1 Weekly Benefits Excess - 30 days.<br />

10.4.1 Weekly Benefit Period - One Hundred<br />

and 4 (104) weeks maximum.<br />

10.5 Definitions<br />

10.5.1 Home Help Weekly Benefit<br />

The insurer will pay for the cost <strong>of</strong> hiring help<br />

and/or child minding services reasonably<br />

and necessarily incurred by an Insured<br />

Person as a result <strong>of</strong> injury from an insured<br />

event causing temporary total disablement.<br />

Provided that:<br />

a) Such child minding services and<br />

nursing help are carried out by<br />

persons other than members <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Insured Person’s family or other<br />

relatives or persons permanently<br />

living with the Insured Person.<br />

b) Such child minding services and help<br />

are certified by a legally qualified<br />

medical practitioner as being<br />

necessary for the recovery <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Insured Person.<br />

c) Payments will commence from the<br />

14th day <strong>of</strong> treatment by a legally<br />

qualified medical practitioner.<br />

10.5.2 Student Tutorial Weekly Benefit<br />

In respect <strong>of</strong> unmarried dependant children,<br />

the insurer will pay the cost <strong>of</strong> hiring<br />

home tutoring services reasonably and<br />

necessarily incurred by an Insured Person<br />

as a result <strong>of</strong> injury from an insured event<br />

causing temporary total disablement.<br />

Provided that:<br />

a) The Insured Person is registered as<br />

a full-time student.<br />

b) Such home tutoring services are<br />

carried out by persons other than<br />

members <strong>of</strong> the Insured Person’s<br />

family or other relatives or persons<br />

who are full-time students.<br />

c) Payments will commence from the<br />

14th day <strong>of</strong> treatment by a legally<br />

qualified medical practitioner.<br />

10.5.3 Parents’ Inconvenience Allowance<br />

The insurer will pay up to $15 per day to<br />

a maximum <strong>of</strong> $1,500 for reimbursement<br />

<strong>of</strong> expenses incurred for travelling, child<br />

minding or other out-<strong>of</strong>-pocket expenses<br />

incurred whilst an insured child is<br />

hospitalised arising from an insured event.<br />

10.5.4 Total Disablement<br />

Total disablement means disablement<br />

which entirely prevents an Insured Person<br />

from attending to business or occupation <strong>of</strong><br />

any and every kind other than motorcycling,<br />

or if the Insured Person has no business or<br />

occupation other than motorcycling, from<br />

engaging in an occupation for which the<br />

Insured Person is reasonably qualified by<br />

education, training or experience.<br />
