only the NAD Scheme), the FIM antidoping<br />
policy, this ADP and under the<br />
Code in respect to providing accurate<br />
whereabouts information to ASADA and/<br />
or FIM. Whereabouts information may<br />
be released in accordance with the NAD<br />
Scheme.<br />
11.10 anti-doping - RETIREMENT AND<br />
RETURN TO COMPETITION<br />
11.10.0.1 An Athlete or MA member who wants to<br />
retire from Competition or who wants to<br />
return to Competition after retirement<br />
or any new Member who wishes to<br />
compete in Competition must comply<br />
with such requirements as are set by FIM<br />
and/or ASADA from time to time. The<br />
requirements set out below are current as<br />
at the date <strong>of</strong> the adoption <strong>of</strong> this policy.<br />
11.10.0.2 An Athlete who wants to retire from<br />
Competition can only do so by notifying<br />
the ASADA Chair by fully completing<br />
and forwarding to him or her the ASADA<br />
“RETIREMENT NOTIFICATION FORM”<br />
(retirement notification). Retirement<br />
notifications that are not fully completed<br />
will not be accepted and will be returned<br />
to the Athlete. An Athlete’s retirement<br />
date will be the date the ASADA Chair<br />
receives the fully completed retirement<br />
notification.<br />
11.10.0.3 Upon receipt <strong>of</strong> a notification under GCR<br />
11.10.0.2, the ASADA Chair will, as soon<br />
as reasonably practicable, provide the<br />
Athlete, MA and, in the case <strong>of</strong> Athletes<br />
who are also included in the FIM<br />
Registered Testing Pool, FIM with written<br />
confirmation <strong>of</strong> the Athlete’s retirement.<br />
11.10.0.4 Retirement does not:<br />
a) Excuse the Athlete from giving a<br />
Sample requested on or before their<br />
retirement date;<br />
b) Prevent the analysis <strong>of</strong> a Sample<br />
given by the Athlete on or before<br />
their retirement date;<br />
c) Affect the results <strong>of</strong> Testing under (a)<br />
or (b) above; or<br />
d) Exempt the Athlete from this ADP<br />
in relation to an Anti-Doing Rule<br />
Violation committed on or before<br />
their retirement date.<br />
11.10.0.5 An Athlete who has retired in accordance<br />
with GCR 11.10.0.2, and who wishes<br />
to return to Competition, can only do<br />
so by notifying the ASADA Chair by<br />
fully completing and forwarding to him<br />
or her, the ASADA “REQUEST FOR<br />
REINSTATEMENT FORM” (reinstatement<br />
request) . Reinstatement requests that are<br />
not fully completed will not be accepted<br />
and will be returned to the Athlete. The<br />
Athlete’s reinstatement request date will<br />
be the date the ASADA Chair receives the<br />
fully completed reinstatement request.<br />
Reinstatement will be at the discretion <strong>of</strong><br />
MA in consultation with ASADA.<br />
11.10.0.6 Upon receipt <strong>of</strong> notification under GCR<br />
11.10.0.2, the ASADA Chair will, as soon<br />
as reasonably practicable:<br />
a) Provide the Athlete with written<br />
confirmation <strong>of</strong> the outcome <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Athlete’s reinstatement request; and<br />
b) If the reinstatement request is<br />
approved, provide MA and, in the<br />
case <strong>of</strong> Athletes who were listed<br />
in the FIM Registered Testing Pool<br />
immediately prior to retirement,<br />
FIM with written confirmation <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Athlete’s reinstatement.<br />
11.10.0.7 If reinstatement is granted then this ADP<br />
will apply to the Athlete from the date <strong>of</strong><br />
their reinstatement request. An Athlete<br />
who is reinstated under GCR11.10.0.2<br />
may not compete in Competitions and<br />
Events conducted by or under the<br />
auspices <strong>of</strong> MA or FIM until the following<br />
periods expire:<br />
a) For international Competitions and<br />
Events:<br />
• 24 months from the date <strong>of</strong> the<br />
reinstatement request.<br />
b) For national Competitions and<br />
Events:<br />
• 24 months from the date <strong>of</strong> the<br />
reinstatement request.<br />
11.10.0.8 An Athlete must be available for<br />
unannounced Out-<strong>of</strong>-Competition Testing<br />
in accordance with this ADP from the date<br />
<strong>of</strong> their reinstatement request. Being<br />
available for Out-<strong>of</strong>-Competition Testing<br />
means that any Athlete who is eligible<br />
to be listed on the national Registered<br />
Testing Pool has been listed on the<br />
national Registered Testing Pool for<br />
the reinstatement period; has provided<br />
current and accurate and up-to-date<br />
