18.10 Eligibility - CLASSIC LONG<br />

TRACK<br />

18.10.0.1 Engines must have been manufactured<br />

before 31 st December 1976.<br />

18.10.0.2 Competitors must be aged at least 30<br />

years at the date <strong>of</strong> the competition.<br />

18.11 FrameS & pARTS - Classic Long<br />

Track<br />

18.11.0.1 The frame must:<br />

a) Have conventional swingarm<br />

rear suspension with twin shock<br />

absorbers,<br />

b) Have a front wheel diameter <strong>of</strong> 23”<br />

(594mm),<br />

c) Have a rear wheel diameter <strong>of</strong><br />

19” (482mm) or 22” (560mm), as<br />

specified in the SR.<br />

d) Have rear tyres with a maximum<br />

tread pattern depth <strong>of</strong> 8mm.<br />

e) Not be fitted leading-link front forks.<br />

18.11.1 Engine Specifications - Solo<br />

18.11.1.1 The engine must:<br />

a) Be single cylinder,<br />

b) Be 2- valve with push rod operation,<br />

c) Have a single spark plug,<br />

d) Have a maximum capacity <strong>of</strong> 500cc<br />

+<br />

/ -<br />

2% tolerance,<br />

e) Be vertical in the chassis,<br />

f) Be fitted with a round slide<br />

carburettor <strong>of</strong> 38mm maximum bore,<br />

g) Not be fitted with a centre port cross<br />

flow cylinder head.<br />

18.11.2 Gearbox - Classic Long Track<br />

18.11.2.1 The gearbox must have at least 2 gears.<br />

18.11.3 Frames - Sidecars<br />

18.11.3.1 Conventional type frames as used prior to<br />

31 st December 1976 must be used.<br />

18.11.4 Engine Specifications - Sidecars<br />

18.11.4.1 Engines must have been manufactured<br />

before 31 st December 1976.<br />

18.12 Competition Rules - Classic<br />

MX and Dirt Track<br />

18.12.0.1 Pre-1960, Pre-1965, Pre-1970. Should a<br />

class have insufficient entrants (10) then<br />

the entries will compete in the next later<br />

period and compete as that class. e.g.<br />

Pre-1960 has less than 10 riders, the<br />

entrants will then combine with pre-1965<br />

and race as pre-1965. Should that<br />

combined class still not have sufficient<br />

numbers then both the entrants in pre-1960<br />

and pre-1965 will combine with pre-1970<br />

and race as that class. This GCR applies<br />

equally to the pre-1965 250cc who will<br />

combine with pre 1970-250cc if there are<br />

insufficient numbers for a pre-1965 class.<br />

18.13 AUSTRALIAN classic<br />

MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP<br />

18.13.1.1 The <strong>Australia</strong>n Classic Motocross<br />

Championship willbe conducted as a<br />

single meeting at a venue selected by<br />

the Classic Motocross and Dirt Track<br />

Commission.<br />

18.13.1.2 Evolution class may be run as part<br />

<strong>of</strong> the <strong>Australia</strong>n Classic Motocross<br />

Championship or independently.<br />

18.13.1.3 The Sidecar Classic Motocross<br />

Championship may be run independently<br />

from the solo <strong>Australia</strong>n Classic Motocross<br />

Championship.<br />

18.14 AUSTRALIAN CLASSIC dirt<br />

track CHAMPIONSHIP<br />

18.14.0.1 The <strong>Australia</strong>n Classic Dirt Track<br />

Championship shall generally be<br />

conducted on either the 2 nd or 3 rd weekend<br />

<strong>of</strong> September each year.<br />
