15.10 NakedBike nk1<br />

15..0.1 This category may allow the mixing <strong>of</strong><br />

parts from different models and years <strong>of</strong><br />

machines, but caution is advised.<br />

15.10.0.2 Subject to the required and permitted<br />

alterations set out below, NakedBike<br />

machines must:<br />

a) Appear on the homologation<br />

lists available from the Formula<br />

Xtreme Pty. Ltd. The NakedBike<br />

homologation list may be added to<br />

at any time at the discretion <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Formula Xtreme Pty. Ltd.<br />

b) Be fitted with original ADR<br />

compliance plates for the particular<br />

machine,<br />

c) Have a 4-stoke engine <strong>of</strong> 2, 3 or 4<br />

cylinders,<br />

d) Have an engine capacity <strong>of</strong> 590cc or<br />

over.<br />

15.10.0.3 If a particular modification or change <strong>of</strong><br />

part is not covered in these rules, then<br />

the modification or change <strong>of</strong> part is not<br />

permitted.<br />

15.10.1 Definitions- NakedBikes<br />

15.10.1.1 For the purposes <strong>of</strong> these Rules:<br />

a) OEM means Original Equipment<br />

Manufacture- but not year or model<br />

specific,<br />

b) OEM, per Model means- Original<br />

Equipment Manufacture- but not<br />

year specific,<br />

c) OEM, per Model and Year means<br />

Original Equipment Manufacture- for<br />

the machine’s specific year and model.<br />

15.10.2 Naked Bike - Frames and Parts<br />

15.10.2.1 The following must be removed:<br />

a) Headlamp,<br />

b) Tail lamp and reflectors,<br />

c) Pillion pegs,<br />

d) Horn(s),<br />

e) Traffic indicators,<br />

f) Mirrors,<br />

g) Centre and side stand(s),<br />

h) Registration plate and label holder.<br />

15.10.2.2 The following may be removed:<br />

a) Rear mudguards,<br />

b) Inner guards,<br />

c) Thermo fans,<br />

d) Anti-pollution equipment and/or de<br />

icing gear,<br />

e) Starter motor,<br />

f) Alternator,<br />

g) Any other part or item that will<br />

not affect the safety or structural<br />

integrity <strong>of</strong> the motorcycle, unless in<br />

contravention <strong>of</strong> these Rules.<br />

15.10.2.3 Airboxes,<br />

a) Can be removed,<br />

b) If fitted, must have a closed breather<br />

system fitted and operational,<br />

c) May not be ducted other than OEM<br />

per model,<br />

d) May not be pressurised unless OEM<br />

per model and year.<br />

15.10.2.4 Any sharp edges left by the removal <strong>of</strong> the<br />

above components must be protected by<br />

a rolled edge or beading <strong>of</strong> minimum 3mm<br />

diameter.<br />

15.10.2.5 Frame as OEM for model and year, but<br />

repairs and bracing are allowed,<br />

15.10.2.6 Sub-Frame(s) - Original pr<strong>of</strong>ile must be<br />

maintained if repaired or replaced.<br />

15.10.2.7 The following must be as OEM, per model<br />

and year:<br />

a) Swingarm, but alterations permitted,<br />

b) Brake discs,<br />

c) Brake calipers,<br />

15.10.2.8 Any modifications to the frame, sub-frame<br />

or swingarm must not compromise or<br />

undermine the structural integrity <strong>of</strong> the<br />

machine.<br />

15.10.2.9 The following must be as OEM, per<br />

model:<br />

a) Fork tubes and sliders, but internals<br />

can be altered and external adjusters<br />

can be fitted.<br />

15.10.2.10 The following may be modified as<br />

follows:<br />

a) Rear suspension:<br />

i) Ride height adjuster can be fitted,<br />

ii) Shock absorber manufacturer and<br />

length free,<br />

iii) Link arm rods free,<br />

iv) Rear suspension link free.<br />
