given by the Referee received<br />

verbally or in writing, directly or by<br />

telephone,<br />

c) Ensure that all the necessary<br />

<strong>of</strong>ficials, riders and spectators<br />

are informed without delay <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Referee’s decision,<br />

d) To prevent any person from<br />

communicating directly with the<br />

Referee, including communicating<br />

by telephone, during the meeting<br />

without the Referee’s permission,<br />

e) Must ensure that protests are in<br />

order and accompanied by the<br />

appropriate fees before passing<br />

them to the Referee.<br />

19.12 <strong>Australia</strong>n Speedway<br />

Championships<br />

19.12.1 Applications to Conduct<br />

19.12.1.1 Applications for the conduct <strong>of</strong> <strong>Australia</strong>n<br />

championships must be delivered to MA<br />

by 1 st April each year.<br />

19.12.2 Dates for Conduct<br />

19.12.2.1 Unless otherwise determined by the<br />

Commission, the <strong>Australia</strong>n 500cc Solo<br />

Championships must be run in January or<br />

February <strong>of</strong> each year and the <strong>Australia</strong>n<br />

Sidecar Championships at the Easter<br />

weekend in each year.<br />

19.12.3 Selection Committee<br />

19.12.3.1 The selection committee will be the<br />

Commission which must;<br />

a) Forward the competitor and reserve<br />

selections to MA,<br />

b) MA will notify the competitors and<br />

the Promoter <strong>of</strong> the selections.<br />

19.12.4 Selection and Qualification<br />

19.12.4.1 To qualify for selection for an <strong>Australia</strong>n<br />

championship event, a competitor must:<br />

a) Be the current <strong>Australia</strong>n Champion,<br />

or<br />

b) Be the best performing competitor in<br />

the State championship <strong>of</strong> the State<br />

which issued the competitors licence,<br />

held a minimum <strong>of</strong> 30 days prior to<br />

the <strong>Australia</strong>n Championship, or<br />

c) Apply in writing to MA no less than<br />

30 days from the event and be<br />

selected by the Selection Committee<br />

d) Competitors who are not <strong>Australia</strong>n<br />

citizens may nominate to compete<br />

in the <strong>Australia</strong>n Speedway<br />

Championships and may be<br />

considered by the Speedway<br />

Commission for inclusion.<br />

19.12.4.2 Any State unable to conduct a<br />

championship <strong>of</strong> 12 entries or more<br />

prior to the close <strong>of</strong> entries in the SR<br />

for an <strong>Australia</strong>n championship may<br />
