an applicant must<br />
a) Be 18 years or older,<br />
b) Have at least 2 years practical<br />
experience in motorcycle competition<br />
as a competitor or <strong>of</strong>ficial and have<br />
a sound knowledge <strong>of</strong> motorcycle<br />
riding technique,<br />
c) Attend and complete a Level 1<br />
<strong>Motorcycling</strong> Coaching Course,<br />
d) Undertake 20 hours <strong>of</strong> motorcycle<br />
coaching after attending a Level 1<br />
<strong>Motorcycle</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> Coaching Course,<br />
e) Complete the required post course<br />
assessment tasks,<br />
f) Complete and return the required<br />
application form.<br />
8.1.4.4 Maintaining a Level 1 Coaching Licence<br />
a) <strong>Motorcycle</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> Coaching<br />
accreditation lasts 4 years,<br />
b) For a <strong>Motorcycle</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> coach to be<br />
recognised by MA they must keep<br />
their coaching licence up to date.<br />
8.1.5 Level 1 Coaching Re -accreditation<br />
8.1.5.1 The following needs to be undertaken<br />
over a 4 year period from the date <strong>of</strong><br />
accreditation.<br />
a) Complete 20 hours <strong>of</strong> sport specific<br />
tasks [refer to GCR 8.2],<br />
b) Complete 10 hours <strong>of</strong> general sports<br />
tasks (refer to 8.2)<br />
8.1.6 Level 2 Coaching Accreditation<br />
8.1.6.1 The Level 2 <strong>Motorcycle</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> Coaching<br />
Course is an intermediate course designed<br />
to extend the Level 1 coach’s ability to<br />
confidently and safely coach, conduct<br />
advanced licence testing, create coaching<br />
sessions, formulate personalised yearly<br />
training programs and assist in coaching<br />
national squads.<br />
8.1.6.2 A Level 2 <strong>Motorcycle</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> Coach can:<br />
a) Conduct advanced licence testing,<br />
b) Create their own coaching sessions,<br />
c) Utilise Level 1 accredited coaches as<br />
assistants,<br />
d) Coach a maximum <strong>of</strong> 15 riders and<br />
an additional 10 riders for every<br />
Level 1 assistant coach.<br />
8.1.6.3 To obtain a Level 2 <strong>Motorcycle</strong> <strong>Sport</strong><br />
coaching accreditation, the applicant<br />
must:<br />
a) Be 18 years or older,<br />
b) Have a Level 1 <strong>Motorcycle</strong> <strong>Sport</strong><br />
Coaching Accreditation,<br />
c) Have a Level 2 General Principles <strong>of</strong><br />
Coaching Accreditation,<br />
d) Attend and complete a Level 2<br />
<strong>Motorcycle</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> Coaching Course ,<br />
e) Undertake 30 hours <strong>of</strong> motorcycle<br />
coaching after attending a course ,<br />
f) Undertake 10 hours <strong>of</strong> motorcycle<br />
coaching under the supervision <strong>of</strong> a<br />
master coach,<br />
g) Complete the required post course<br />
assessable tasks,<br />
h) Complete and return the required<br />
application form.<br />
8.1.6.4 Maintaining a Level 2 Coaching Licence<br />
a) Coaching accreditation last 4 years,<br />
but a coaching licence is for 1 year,<br />
b) For a <strong>Motorcycle</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> coach to be<br />
recognised by MA they must renew<br />
their coaching licence on an annual<br />
basis.<br />
8.1.7 Level 2 Coaching Re-accreditation<br />
The following needs to be undertaken<br />
over a 4 year period from the date <strong>of</strong><br />
accreditation:<br />
a) Complete 40 hours <strong>of</strong> sport specific<br />
tasks [refer to GCR 8.2]<br />
b) Complete 20 hours <strong>of</strong> general sports<br />
tasks [refer to GCR 8.2]<br />
8.2 Suitable Activities for<br />
coaching Re-Accreditation<br />

Obtain Level 2 <strong>Motorcycling</strong> Coaching Accreditation<br />
Attend <strong>Motorcycling</strong> Courses<br />
Conduct Practical Club Coaching [max 5 hrs]<br />
Present/lecture at courses<br />
Attend Coaching Workshops<br />
Attend Training Camps<br />
Work with a “Master” coach<br />
GENERAL SPORT TASKS<br />
Attend State Department <strong>of</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> & Recreation courses<br />
Attend other NCAS courses<br />
Obtain <strong>Sport</strong> Trainer accreditation<br />
Obtain First Aid Certificate [eg: Red Cross / St John]<br />
CPR accreditation<br />
Obtain an <strong>of</strong>ficials accreditation<br />
