COMMUNITY SERVICES<br />
<strong>Fees</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Charges</strong> for <strong>Prince</strong> <strong>George</strong> Civic Centre<br />
EFFECTIVE: JANUARY 1, 2014 AMENDED BY BYLAW 8533, 2013<br />
EVENT DEFINITIONS:<br />
Annual Special Events<br />
Includes all special events that are re-occurring on an annual or bi-annual basis <strong>and</strong> that require a tentative<br />
hold <strong>of</strong> their consistent annual calendar dates into the future. In order to become an annual special event,<br />
customers must request in writing that their event be classified as an “Annual Special Event” <strong>and</strong> pay the<br />
deposits as required by the fee bylaw. Annual dates will be held for up to five years in advance at any given<br />
time. Cancelled dates will be subject to a non-refundable deposit if cancelled within 11 months. Two<br />
consecutive cancellations will result in a loss <strong>of</strong> annual user status.<br />
Conventions <strong>and</strong> Conferences<br />
Includes events where there is an assemblage <strong>of</strong> delegates, representatives <strong>and</strong> members <strong>of</strong> an organization<br />
convened for a common purpose. These events normally include the word ‘conference’, ‘convention’ or<br />
‘symposium’ in their title <strong>and</strong> are generally more than one day in length. These events <strong>of</strong>ten generate<br />
economic benefit to the community because they include delegates from out <strong>of</strong> town that require<br />
accommodations <strong>and</strong> meals.<br />
Trade Shows<br />
Exhibits <strong>of</strong> products <strong>and</strong> services that is not open to the public. An exhibition <strong>of</strong> products <strong>and</strong>/or services held<br />
for members <strong>of</strong> a common or related industry. Not open to the general public.<br />
Consumer Shows<br />
Exhibitions that is open to the public. Exhibitions open to the public usually requiring an entrance fee.<br />
Special Events<br />
Includes events such as concerts <strong>and</strong> entertainment shows, banquets, tradeshows, consumer shows, religious<br />
assemblies, ceremonies, dances, seminars, carnivals, fundraising events, spectator events <strong>and</strong>/or western<br />
Canadian <strong>and</strong> national sporting events.<br />
Recreation Events<br />
Includes a variety <strong>of</strong> participatory leisure pursuits such as sports, games, performing arts, <strong>and</strong> visual arts,<br />
outdoor nature oriented skills <strong>and</strong> hobbies.<br />
RATE DEFINITIONS:<br />
St<strong>and</strong>ard Rate<br />
This rate is applied to all bookings at the <strong>Prince</strong> <strong>George</strong> Civic Centre. This includes all conferences,<br />
conventions, tradeshows <strong>and</strong> consumer shows.<br />
Exempt Events: Mennonite Fall Fair, Golden Age Socials, & Studio Fair<br />
Discount Rate<br />
The rate may be available to <strong>Prince</strong> <strong>George</strong> based individuals, not-for-pr<strong>of</strong>it groups, charitable organizations or<br />
registered societies with the primary purpose <strong>of</strong> community service <strong>and</strong> where the local community is the
