Classroom Management
Posting riddles and word puzzles on the board, in the
classroom that is easy to access and see, is a great way
to provide students with something to keep them occupied
if they finish their assignments early. Offer a reward
or prize for the first one to figure out the riddles.
Here are a couple examples:
"You throw away the outside, and then cook the inside.
Then, you eat the outside, and throw away the inside.
What is it?" Answer: Corn on the cob.
"The maker doesn't want it. The buyer doesn't use it. The
user doesn't see it. What is it?" Answer: A coffin.
“What word in the dictionary is spelled incorrectly?”
Answer: incorrectly
“What can run but never walk, has a mouth but never
speaks, has head that never weeps, and has a bed but
never sleeps?” Answer: A river
“Kind words can be short and are easy to
speak, but their echoes are truly endless.”
