Greek and Latin<br />

The Greek and Latin programs provide the necessary requisites for pre-seminary and theology<br />

majors, as well as for students who desire to enrich their programs with the study of an ancient<br />

language and literature. Elementary and Intermediate Greek are taught in alternate years.<br />

Greek Courses (GRE)<br />

GRE 101 Essentials of Greek (3)<br />

This introductory study of the Greek language emphasizes grammatical structure and vocabulary<br />

building.<br />

GRE 102 Essentials of Greek (3)<br />

Continuation of 101. Prerequisite: Greek 101.<br />

Spring, Even<br />

GRE 201 Intermediate Greek (3)<br />

Fall, Even<br />

Students build skill and vocabulary by translating selections from Greek literature, primarily the<br />

New Testament. Prerequisite: Greek 102.<br />

LAT 101 Elementary Latin I (3)<br />

An introductory course in the Latin language, including vocabulary, morphology, and basic<br />

grammatical structures. Readings will be in a wide selection of excerpts from Latin authors as<br />

appropriate to the level.<br />

LAT 102 Elementary Latin II (3)<br />

Continuation of Latin 101.<br />

Spanish Program<br />
