Federal PLUS Loan Program<br />

A PLUS is a non-need-based loan that parents may take out on behalf of the dependent student.<br />

The interest rate is variable. To apply, complete the online application process.<br />

Education Assistance Limited (EAL) Scholarships<br />

These scholarships are available to students as part of the need-based scholarship program. To<br />

apply, complete the FAFSA.<br />

<strong>Trinity</strong>-Sponsored Programs<br />

Athletics Scholarships<br />

Athletics awards are available in various amounts. Awards are given to students based on their<br />

athletic ability. Interested students should contact the athletics director for more information.<br />

Students receiving an athletics award are not eligible for any need-based institutional aid. All<br />

scholarships are based upon full-time enrollment.<br />

Founders’ Scholarships<br />

Two renewable full-tuition scholarships are awarded each year to first-time freshmen with<br />

a minimum high school grade-point average of 3.8 on a 4.0 scale; 30 ACT or 1320 SAT;<br />

demonstrated leadership in church, school, or community; and evidence in the students’ lives of<br />

faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. To apply, submit the special application including<br />

personal essay, pastor’s letter of reference, and two teacher recommendations. Renewal contingent<br />

upon maintaining a 3.75 cumulative GPA at the end of each academic year.<br />

Greater Chicago <strong>Christian</strong> Leadership Scholarships<br />

Up to four renewable full-tuition scholarships awarded each year to incoming freshmen who<br />

come from under represented populations. The incoming freshman must have demonstrated<br />

academic excellence, leadership and <strong>Christian</strong> commitment. Candidates must have a 3.5<br />

cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale and be in top 10 percent of their high school graduating class.<br />

Refer to the GCCLS application, available from the admissions office, for more information.<br />

Candidates must apply for all state and federal grants for which they qualify. <strong>Trinity</strong> <strong>Christian</strong><br />

<strong>College</strong> will provide funds that, when added to state and federal grants received, equal full tuition.<br />

Money from loans and outside scholarships may be applied to room, board, fees, and books.<br />

Honors Scholarships<br />

Honors Scholarships are offered to students with high scores on the ACT or SAT and/or<br />

excellent high school records. (Students with exceptionally high scores should apply for the<br />

Founders’ Scholarship.)<br />
