ACADemic Program<br />

Liberal Arts at <strong>Trinity</strong><br />

<strong>Trinity</strong> grants five types of bachelor’s degrees: the Bachelor of Arts (BA) is granted to those<br />

completing requirements in the traditional liberal arts disciplines, the Bachelor of Science (BS),<br />

is awarded in business with an upper-level concentration, the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy<br />

(BSA), the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), and the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW).<br />

The Registrar’s office posts degrees four times a year: January, May, August and December.<br />

General requirements: The formal requirements for graduation with a bachelor’s degree are<br />

the following:<br />

• A minimum grade-point average (GPA) of 2.0 in all courses taken and in all<br />

courses within the major, unless specified by the department. Please refer to the department’s<br />

section of the <strong>catalog</strong> for program requirements.<br />

• 125 total credits. These credits will consist of courses fulfilling major, minor, and general<br />

education requirements as well as electives.<br />

• All of the requirements for an academic major and minor. A minor is not required for<br />

students who major in programs that lead to a BS, BSA, BSN, or BSW degree.<br />

• The general education curriculum requirements. These vary slightly by the type of major.<br />

• Completing a senior college assessment of student learning outcomes. These include<br />

the major and general education.<br />

• The residency requirement for the traditional program. Students must complete 45 hours<br />

of the total credits required for graduation at <strong>Trinity</strong>. In addition, at least twelve hours of all<br />

major courses and six hours of all minor courses must be completed at <strong>Trinity</strong>, and 12 of the last<br />

20 hours must be completed at <strong>Trinity</strong>.<br />
