Elizabeth Anne Hoelzel Memorial Scholarship: A one-time award will be given<br />

annually to a promising senior nursing student who demonstrates compassion, care, and skill in<br />

his/her professional activities. Recipient is selected by the director of the nursing program.<br />

Ben Hofman Memorial Scholarship: : A one-time award will be given annually to a junior<br />

or senior special education major. Recipient is selected by the special education faculty<br />

and the financial aid office. Priority is given to students with financial need.<br />

Hoitenga-Roelofs Nursing Scholarship: One scholarship is awarded annually to a senior<br />

who shows commitment to nursing as a lifelong calling to serve Jesus Christ through competent<br />

and compassionate service to people of all cultures.<br />

John and Effie Huitsing Memorial Scholarship: A scholarship will be awarded to an<br />

international student or recent immigrant who desires a <strong>Christian</strong> education and has an interest<br />

in the <strong>Christian</strong> faith. Recommendation required from a pastor or recent educator concerning<br />

personal integrity, promise of academic success, and a desire to serve others. The scholarship is<br />

renewable if requirements are met. The recipient is chosen by the financial aid office.<br />

Jennie Huizenga Memorial Scholarship Program: Approximately 10 scholarships<br />

are awarded annually to freshmen from CSI schools. Awards are renewable and are granted to<br />

eligible students who have outstanding financial need. New students applying for this award<br />

should submit an essay and complete the FAFSA by February 15 to receive priority consideration.<br />

Returning students should file the FAFSA by March 1.<br />

Art and Judy Jongsma Psychology: One award given to a junior or senior psychology<br />

major with a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher. To apply, complete the scholarship application and<br />

submit two faculty recommendations and an essay about your interest in psychology.<br />

Carol and Henry Kamp/Edith and Clarence Schemper Organ Scholarship: One<br />

scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior who shows <strong>Christian</strong> commitment and contribution<br />

to church organ music programs, as well as the <strong>Trinity</strong> organ music program. The applicant does<br />

not need to be a music major; a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 is required.<br />

Henry & Carol Kamp Honors Instrumental Ensemble Scholarship: The Henry &<br />

Carol Kamp Honors Instrumental Ensemble will be available to perform at <strong>College</strong> functions,<br />

including but not limited to: convocation, graduation, Christmastide, music department<br />

concerts, and chapel services. Additionally, the Ensemble and director will work closely with<br />

the <strong>College</strong> development office in scheduling participation in supporting churches’ worship<br />

services approximately eight to ten times annually. Special consideration will be given to churches<br />

encouraging psalm and hymn singing in the Reformed tradition.<br />

Harry and Barb Kampenga Scholarship: One award is given each year to a junior or<br />

senior student from the southeast Wisconsin area. The student must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA.<br />

Preference will be given to a student majoring in nursing or education. The chairpersons of the<br />

nursing and education departments will choose the recipient of the award.<br />
