Adult Studies. Accelerated Programs<br />
ABUS 304 Contemporary Economic Analysis (3)<br />
A study of the economic choices made by individuals and organizations in a market economy.<br />
This course examines the behavior of individuals and institutions, and compares economic<br />
systems. Prerequisite: Macroeconomics.<br />
ABUS 305 Management Planning and Decision-Making (3)<br />
An analysis of the managerial functions of planning, organizing, staffing, leading, directing<br />
and controlling. Incorporated within the presentation of these functions is a discussion of our<br />
responsibilities as <strong>Christian</strong>s.<br />
ABUS 306 <strong>Christian</strong> Worldview (3)<br />
This course introduces the adult learner to themselves, the worldviews that have shaped them<br />
and an alternative: a biblical world-and-life view. This course involves self-examination, a study<br />
of worldviews that have dominated Western culture (both past and present) and an introduction<br />
to a biblical framework that answers life’s basic questions. Specific applications of this biblical<br />
worldview will be an important part of this course.<br />
ABUS 307 Accounting for Decision Makers (3)<br />
This course extends the accounting knowledge acquired in the financial accounting course to the<br />
internal corporate environment. Students gain an understanding of the importance of accounting<br />
information to internal management decision-making. Prerequisite: Financial Accounting.<br />
ABUS 308 Marketing Management (3)<br />
An introduction to the activities and decisions faced by marketing managers in business and<br />
non-business organizations. Emphasis is placed on a basic understanding of the principles of<br />
marketing and on the operation of the marketing function.<br />
ABUS 310 Collection, Analysis, and Interpretation of Quantitative Data (4)<br />
Problem analysis and evaluation techniques are presented. Adult learners are shown methods of<br />
defining, researching, analyzing, and evaluating of a problem in their professional environment<br />
that they have selected for independent study projects. Specific statistical information covered<br />
in this course includes identifying and measuring objectives, collecting data, working with<br />
significance levels, analyzing variance, and constructing questionnaires.<br />
ABUS 311 Global Business (3)<br />
This course is designed to provide the adult learner with an opportunity to acquire an<br />
understanding of how a U.S.–based organization can successfully transact business with its<br />
customers, suppliers, vendors, and resource providers located in foreign countries. The adult<br />
learner will be given the opportunity to explore cultural environments, global politics, economic<br />
systems and diversity from an international, regional, and global perspective.<br />
