ABUS 313 Financial Planning, Analysis and Decision Making (3)<br />
A study of financial decision-making in the areas of working capital management, short-term and<br />
long-term financing, financing risk, and capital asset management. The topics of present value,<br />
future value, taxes, depreciation, and financial markets are also presented. Relevant discussion of<br />
personal financial management from a <strong>Christian</strong> perspective is incorporated.<br />
ABUS 314 Legal Environment of Business (3)<br />
An introduction to the rapidly changing legal environment of business through:<br />
(1) an explanation of the nature and functions of our legal system; (2) an integrated approach<br />
to ethics and global issues, and (3) a practical group of cases designed to assure that students<br />
understand legal issues in a manner that will be useful to them as <strong>Christian</strong> citizens and employees.<br />
ABUS 315 Strategic Management and Decision Making (4)<br />
An examination of the strategic management process using the SWOT analysis format. This<br />
course will emphasize long-term planning and strategy formulation for organizational success.<br />
Integrating knowledge from all previous courses in the Adult Studies program, students will<br />
participate and compete individually and as teams in the operations management of a computersimulated<br />
business. Decisions will be made in all functional areas of business operations:<br />
marketing, management, finance, accounting, research and development, human relations, and<br />
information systems.<br />
ABUS 316 Business Ethics and Society (3)<br />
This course examines theories of ethical behavior, explores their influence on contemporary<br />
business practice, and develops a Biblically-based framework within which to address the moral<br />
issues inherent in business life.<br />
ABUS 317 Information Technology Management (3)<br />
This course will focus on 10 Information Technology management processes identified as core<br />
processes by the Information and Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), a well-known IT<br />
international standards body. These include five processes under the category of Service Delivery<br />
and five under the category of Service Support. Students will learn the full breadth of issues that<br />
must be addressed to manage IT as a business.<br />
ABUS 417 Comprehensive Senior Capstone Assessment (5)<br />
Students will participate, individually and as teams, in the operations management of a<br />
computer-simulated business, similar to the simulation in the ABUS 315 course, with additional<br />
comprehensive decision-making responsibilities. Competing against one another in their industry,<br />
students will be assessed collectively and individually. Upon conclusion of the course students will<br />
be required to complete a Major Field Test in Business.<br />
