Mary Beth Bootsma Memorial Scholarship: Two awards are given to students who<br />
exhibit Mary Beth’s love for learning, reading, and writing. Priority will be given to junior or senior<br />
women interested in journalism and communication arts.<br />
Gerda Bos English Award: An award is available to a junior or senior education student<br />
with a major or minor in English who has demonstrated academic ability, <strong>Christian</strong> qualities, and<br />
service to the <strong>College</strong> community through extracurricular activities. The recipient is selected by<br />
the English department.<br />
Bernard and Dorothy Bruinius Scholarship: One scholarship awarded to a junior or<br />
senior special education major. The recipient is chosen based on financial need, a completed<br />
scholarship application, and an essay demonstrating their desire to teach in special education.<br />
Karen L. Buikema Scholarship: One award given to a rising junior or senior<br />
majoring in music, preference given to students with minimum 3.0 GPA and who are enrolled in<br />
organ instruction.<br />
Community Foundation of Northwest Indiana Scholarship: Two awards are given<br />
to junior or senior nursing students who maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate<br />
financial need.<br />
Cross-Cultural Scholarship: Up to five awards are available each year for continuing <strong>Trinity</strong><br />
students who plan to participate in a cross-cultural summer ministry without pay. The scholarship<br />
is given to help offset loss of summer income. The award is $250 per week of participation in a<br />
cross-cultural ministry, with a requirement of four to eight weeks of participation.<br />
Jon Cuperus Memorial Scholarships: One non-renewable award will be given to an<br />
incoming freshman who graduated from Unity <strong>Christian</strong> High School, Hudsonville, Michigan.<br />
Also one award will be given to a rising junior or senior political science major who demonstrates<br />
genuine <strong>Christian</strong> commitment.<br />
Clarence and Josephine Davids Business Scholarship: One scholarship is awarded<br />
each year to an entering freshman with a declared business major. The recipient is chosen based on<br />
financial need, <strong>Christian</strong> commitment, and average or above average academic performance. Renewal<br />
for three additional years is based on continuing as a business major and maintaining a GPA of at<br />
least 2.0 overall and 2.3 in business courses. Complete the FAFSA.<br />
John Davids Memorial Scholarship: One renewable scholarship is awarded to an<br />
incoming freshman who graduated from Illiana <strong>Christian</strong> High School. The recipient will have<br />
demonstrated <strong>Christian</strong> leadership while in high school.<br />
Josephine Davids Memorial Business Scholarship: One scholarship is awarded<br />
each year to an entering freshman with a declared business major. The recipient is chosen based<br />
on financial need, <strong>Christian</strong> commitment, and average or above average academic performance.<br />
Renewal for three additional years is based on continuing as a business major and maintaining a<br />
GPA of at least 2.0 overall and 2.3 in business courses. Complete the FAFSA.<br />
