NCMM-Response-to-the-BPCA-RFP-Marina-Operator

In winter, our staff reduces to 3 or 4 people in addition to Commodore
Fortenbaugh. Two of these four (or 50%) are expected to be women.
In 2015, we expect to continue these types of percentages in hiring
minorities and women. This is beyond the average in the marine
industry. However, NMCC makes special efforts and we also benefit from
a diverse city with a full spectrum of potential employees.
I am writing in support of the
bid by Michael Fortenbaugh and
his organization to continue as
the operators of North Cove
Marina. Michael’s stewardship
of the North Cove Marina has
been exemplary. My wife and
children learned to sail through
the MYC, and two of my
children in particular have
become skilled, life-long sailing
enthusiasts thanks to the Club.
My son worked for Michael as a
dockmaster at the marina a few
summers ago, and we were
impressed by the
professionalism of the MYC
organization, and particularly
by the measures Michael took
to be encouraging and fair with
his employees. Michael has
created a great store of good
will toward the marina and
Battery Park City by his efforts
to reach out to the community.

A-14. Provide the name, address, telephone number, place of principal
employment, and occupation of every person or organization retained,
employed, or designated by or on behalf of Proposer to attempt to
influence BPCA to select Proposer as Operator of the North Cove
Marina. Indicate in each case whether such person or organization has a
right to any financial reward if Proposer is selected as Operator. Affirm
that: (i) Proposer certifies such information to be accurate and
complete; (ii) Proposer will update such information and certification if
additional such persons or organizations are so retained or employed
after the date of this response; and (iii) Proposer agrees that its
designation as Operator of the North Cove Marina may be terminated if
such certifications are found to be intentionally false or incomplete.
