In winter, our staff reduces <strong>to</strong> 3 or 4 people in addition <strong>to</strong> Commodore<br />
Fortenbaugh. Two of <strong>the</strong>se four (or 50%) are expected <strong>to</strong> be women.<br />
In 2015, we expect <strong>to</strong> continue <strong>the</strong>se types of percentages in hiring<br />
minorities and women. This is beyond <strong>the</strong> average in <strong>the</strong> marine<br />
industry. However, NMCC makes special efforts and we also benefit from<br />
a diverse city with a full spectrum of potential employees.<br />
I am writing in support of <strong>the</strong><br />
bid by Michael Fortenbaugh and<br />
his organization <strong>to</strong> continue as<br />
<strong>the</strong> opera<strong>to</strong>rs of North Cove<br />
<strong>Marina</strong>. Michael’s stewardship<br />
of <strong>the</strong> North Cove <strong>Marina</strong> has<br />
been exemplary. My wife and<br />
children learned <strong>to</strong> sail through<br />
<strong>the</strong> MYC, and two of my<br />
children in particular have<br />
become skilled, life-long sailing<br />
enthusiasts thanks <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> Club.<br />
My son worked for Michael as a<br />
dockmaster at <strong>the</strong> marina a few<br />
summers ago, and we were<br />
impressed by <strong>the</strong><br />
professionalism of <strong>the</strong> MYC<br />
organization, and particularly<br />
by <strong>the</strong> measures Michael <strong>to</strong>ok<br />
<strong>to</strong> be encouraging and fair with<br />
his employees. Michael has<br />
created a great s<strong>to</strong>re of good<br />
will <strong>to</strong>ward <strong>the</strong> marina and<br />
Battery Park City by his efforts<br />
<strong>to</strong> reach out <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> community.<br />

A-14. Provide <strong>the</strong> name, address, telephone number, place of principal<br />
employment, and occupation of every person or organization retained,<br />
employed, or designated by or on behalf of Proposer <strong>to</strong> attempt <strong>to</strong><br />
influence <strong>BPCA</strong> <strong>to</strong> select Proposer as Opera<strong>to</strong>r of <strong>the</strong> North Cove<br />
<strong>Marina</strong>. Indicate in each case whe<strong>the</strong>r such person or organization has a<br />
right <strong>to</strong> any financial reward if Proposer is selected as Opera<strong>to</strong>r. Affirm<br />
that: (i) Proposer certifies such information <strong>to</strong> be accurate and<br />
complete; (ii) Proposer will update such information and certification if<br />
additional such persons or organizations are so retained or employed<br />
after <strong>the</strong> date of this response; and (iii) Proposer agrees that its<br />
designation as Opera<strong>to</strong>r of <strong>the</strong> North Cove <strong>Marina</strong> may be terminated if<br />
such certifications are found <strong>to</strong> be intentionally false or incomplete.<br />
